About Me
I retired from assisting surgeons as soon as I was eligible because I didn't want to keep ruining my hands and save them for my future as an artist. Osteoarthritis was beginning to make my work painful. I first went to Antigua Guatemala for three weeks with friends to study Spanish, and that lead to a second stay for three months to paint the colorful people and beautiful towns, especially Colonial Antigua. It is a World Heritage Site so draws thousands of tourists year-round. I never dreamed I would build a house, let alone in a foreign country, a house with gorgeous views from up high. And I had decided I was finished with intimate relationships and said I would never marry again. And here I am in Guatemala married to a MUCH younger man. We have a bed and breakfast business in this gorgeous house, and now I try not to say "NEVER." Better to say, "It seems unlikely." I will publish here my stories of encounters here over the past six years, unlikely and sometimes dumbfounding.
