About Me
I am a semi-retired Expat now living in Belize as a Resident of 5 years. My wife and I own and operate a modest Bed & Breakfast in a gated community in Northern Belize on the Bay of Chetumal. Despite the fact that during my "working" life I traveled and worked in many countries, I never learned more than the rudiments of any language. Discovering Belize I found the only country in Central America whose native and official language is English. What a joy! I could speak both my native tongue (English) and get by with my adopted tongue (American) and be understood! My days are filled with projects that bring extra challenges of the Third World to keep them interesting. Or I can go swimming, sailing, snorkeling or just visit a quaint little restaurant for lunch.

Life is laid back and easy here in Belize so long as you are not trying to achieve something specific in a finite amount of time. One should always respect the motto of the local brewery "No Work During Drinking Hours".
