About Me
I am a 68 1/2 year old retired Occupational Therapist. Never married. I decided, to move to Nicaragua, on impulse, with an acquaintance who shared the same USA challenges of living solely on Social Security. I saw it as an opportunity to live comfortably on what money I had. I made the decision to move in April 2013 and actually moved in June 2013. Absolutely, NO regrets!!!

I returned to the USA September 2014. The decision to return to the USA was influenced by: (1) my roommate had to return to USA. She was the one that spoke Spanish. (2) I spoke very little Spanish (survival mostly) and began to feel lonely because of my inability to make friends with the Nicaraguans that I had met along the way. *(3) I was diagnosed (while in Nicaragua) with a heart condition that required further evaluation with equipment/techniques more sophisticated than what was available in Nicaragua. Would I return to Nicaragua if I could? Yes!!!
